My oldest daughter's b-day was coming up and she asked me to loom knit her a ruana.

So I had her choose her yarn and started to work. It's an easy thing to do and I got one side done.

She wants the other side in a reverse color scheme, so that was the next step.

I'm thinking WHEW this is a cinch...

Got a nice length and funky pattern whizzing along, and then... like the bricks that fell off the load..I went ahead and bound it off.

Bless my little cotton pickin heart! I held the 2 sides up to each other and started swearing at myself.

The darn thing was 8 inches too short....OH LORDY, LORDY, LORDY!!!!

I had to go back, undo the knot in the boucle yarn, unbind it, and add more on....RIGHT!!

I ended up hunting down super strength reading glasses and STILL couldn't get that sucker undone.

So I did the next best thing. I clipped the yarn on the row below it, got the loops back on the loom, tied on another yarn and off I went.Twirling, loopin, and swearing.

Fortunately she chose various weights of yarn in her favorite colors. She asked me to make it "funky and interesting"

Trust me!It couldn't get more interesting unless I added neon bananas with poki dots, and figs with feathers.

Next up is the angel hair yarn cable trim on the sides, attached to the ruana body with violet pom pom yarn.... then putting the two body halves together with leather cord.

Now ain't this just gonna be precious!!!??? I'll let you know and post pics.

Here's a link to the dang looms
